In 2006 a Katrina transplant broke into the house I was living in. He took my roommates new laptop and as many CDs and DVDs he could carry in one go. The only DVD out of my collection that he did not take was Claire Denis’ Trouble Every Day. To this day I am not certain as to his motivation for leaving the film. It could have been the fact that it was a Chinese import because the film still has not been released in the U.S., or it could have been the blood soaked body of the protagonist who has a hard time controlling herself when it comes to fucking and eating anybody that is within a distance from her…
